AKADEMIYA2063 is convening a ReSAKSS Webinar to discuss the findings of the 16th Edition of the ATOR, themed “Advancing the Climate and Bioeconomy Agenda in Africa for Resilient and Sustainable Agrifood Systems.” Organized on the heels of the 2024 ReSAKSS Annual Conference, where state and non-state actors came together in Rabat to unveil the report, the online session will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine the evidence and policy recommendations from the publication.
With the climate crisis emerging as the biggest threat to Africa’s agricultural trade development and the agricultural sector as a whole, the 2024 ATOR urges African leaders, policymakers, and global partners to unite in leveraging Africa’s vast renewable biological resources to drive innovation, upscaling investments in new technologies, and upskilling to drive a bioeconomy transition while adapting to climate change.
Against the backdrop of the Malabo Declaration and in preparation for the imminent Post-Malabo Agenda, the research addresses the pressing question of how Africa’s agrifood systems actors can be better equipped to tackle the impacts of climate change while simultaneously reshaping and transforming economies to align with sustainability standards and nature-based solutions.
