This side event will serve as a platform to showcase and accelerate youth-led transformation in Africa’s agrifood systems. Building on insights from the 2024 YOUTH AHEAD report by the Malabo Montpellier Panel, it will highlight innovative policy recommendations and real-world successes that have empowered young Africans across agrifood value chains.
The event will spotlight proven models like the AGRODEP Modeling Consortium and the Regional Scholarship and Innovation Fund of the Partnership for Skills in Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology, which equip youth with cutting-edge skills in research, innovation, and policy analysis. The event brings together youth innovators, policymakers, and development partners to co-create actionable strategies for scaling youth engagement.
It aims to catalyze investment in education, entrepreneurship, and digital infrastructure, while promoting inclusive policy processes that position youth as key policy planners, decision-makers, and investors. Ultimately, the event will deliver a roadmap to unlock the full potential of Africa’s youth for a resilient, tech-driven, and inclusive agrifood system.
