Concept note

AKADEMIYA2063, in collaboration with the Senegalese Institute for Agricultural Research (ISRA - Institut Sénégalais de Recherches Agricoles) through its Office of Macroeconomic Analysis and the National Council for Rural Consultation and Cooperation, is organizing a virtual event on October 14 to launch the AAgWa and FS-COR digital platforms. The event is a continuation of the work of the DERPIn Senegal team, which carried out analyses and developed digital platforms and tools to generate and share knowledge and evidence for use by agrifood systems actors. The project has contributed to the availability and accessibility of agricultural, environmental, and nutrition data targeted to help policymakers, planners, farmers and their organizations, researchers, and the private sector to make informed decisions, foster evidence-based planning, and drive innovation within Senegal’s agrifood systems.

The launch event aims to:

  • Provide an introduction to the DERPIn analyses and findings in Senegal
  • Present and demonstrate the AAgWa and FS-COR platforms to potential users
  • Identify policy implications and potential applications of the DERPIn analyses and digital platforms in Senegal’s agrifood system
  • Facilitate discussion on the information and evidence needs of Senegal agrifood system actors and opportunities to foster evidence-based decision-making.

Target Audience: Policy makers; policy analysts, advisors, and planners; farmers and farmer organizations; private sector enterprises active in agrifood systems; NGOs and civil society organizations; and research organizations.
