"Virtual Informational Meeting for the Private Sector."
The resilience of African food systems is increasingly shaped by digital transformation. The Digitally Enabled Resilience and Nutrition Policy Innovations (DERPIn) project harnesses digital technologies and data-driven solutions to empower policymakers, farmers, private sector enterprises, and other stakeholders with the tools and insights needed to strengthen food security and nutrition. By producing and disseminating data on key areas such as nutrient adequacy, community vulnerability, and agricultural statistics—using satellite data and other digital tools—DERPIn contributes to more effective, gender-sensitive, and inclusive policy decisions.
Scheduled on February 12, this event will introduce the DERPIn project to representatives of private sector firms active in the agrifood sector across DERPIn countries and neighboring regions. Participants will gain insights into how DERPIn’s data and analytical outputs can support decision-making in areas such as industrial fortification, access to financial services for farmers, and agricultural production planning. The discussions will also explore opportunities for collaboration and ways to extend the use of DERPIn’s outputs to better serve private sector needs.
