Building Momentum Toward the Platform Launch
The Consortium for Sustainable Agrivoltaics (C4SA) and its partners are convening a pre‑launch session to the African Agrivoltaics Platform Initiative.
Scheduled for March 25, the event will focus on the strategic opportunity for agrivoltaics in Africa, the rationale and design of the Initiative, the role of international cooperation, policy frameworks, and finance in incubating agrivoltaics markets, and partners’ potential contribution to scaling pilot projects and mobilizing investment. The importance of integrated food–energy–water solutions in Africa, and positioning agrivoltaics as a practical pathway for climate‑resilient agricultural development, will also be highlighted during the event discussions.
Through a format bringing together international organizations, development partners, and financial stakeholders, and speakers sharing perspectives on the policy, development, and financing dimensions of scaling agrivoltaics in Africa, the webinar will:
- Introduce the Agrivoltaics for Africa Platform Initiative and its objectives.
- Highlight the development opportunity presented by agrivoltaics for African food systems and rural economies.
- Engage international institutions and financial actors in supporting the development of the agrivoltaics market.
- Build momentum and visibility ahead of the Platform’s formal launch on 10 April.
- Foster a shared understanding among partners and speakers regarding the Initiative’s vision and next steps.
