OUR VISION

The vision of AKADEMIYA2063 is an Africa with the expertise we need for the Africa we want. That is, an Africa where the available expertise is strong enough and mobilized effectively to meet the continent’s development ambitions.

OUR MISSION

AKADEMIYA2063’s overall mission is to create, across Africa, state-of-the-art technical capacities to support African Union Member States in achieving the key goals of Agenda 2063, of transforming national economies to boost growth and prosperity.

OUR GOALS

The main goal of AKADEMIYA2063 is to help meet the needs of African countries in terms of data, analytics, and mutual learning for the effective implementation of Agenda 2063 and the realization of its outcomes by a critical mass of Member States.

ORGANIZATIONAL CAPABILITY

With close proximity to African policymakers, non-state actors, researchers, and development partners, AKADEMIYA2063 provides data and analysis to strengthen capacities for evidence-based policy formulation and implementation, advancing the African Union’s Agenda 2063, “The Africa We Want.” Our flagship programs, projects, and outreach activities contribute to strengthening knowledge systems, promoting evidence-based policymaking, accelerating agrifood systems transformation and economic growth, and supporting the implementation of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), while enhancing policy planning and interventions across Africa.

AKADEMIYA2063 offers expertise in economic modeling, remote sensing, and machine learning, applied to areas such as agricultural development, agrifood systems resilience, food security, climate change, economic transformation, impact analysis, monitoring and evaluation, nutrition, and trade. Our expertise also includes knowledge management, capacity strengthening, and the development of interactive data platforms to facilitate the dissemination and ease of access to our products and services.

Our research scientists provide expertise in applying a range of analytical tools and methodologies, including partial- and general-equilibrium modeling, econometric analysis, geospatial data processing, and machine learning. In carrying out its research, capacity strengthening, and communications and outreach work, AKADEMIYA2063 leverages expertise from its partnerships and collaborative networks across Africa and beyond the continent.
